Lee & Wrangler bring Digital Product Passports to their European collections.
Since 2024, Kontoor Brands has worked with Tappr on Digital Product Passports across the full European collections of Lee and Wrangler. Together with Charming Trims, the partnership connects product information, AGEC compliance and the labels on the garments.
The collaboration also includes support for environmental score calculations using Ecobalyse.

Digital Product Passports, AGEC compliance and environmental scoring support
“I want to take this opportunity to thank you for the true partnership you have shown with us throughout this project. Everyone needs a TAPPR on their side.”
Two denim icons. A new chapter in product transparency.
Lee’s history stretches back to 1889, with workwear production beginning in 1912. Wrangler introduced its western jeans in 1947, developing garments around the needs of professional rodeo cowboys. Both brands built their reputations through a close understanding of the people wearing their clothes. Lee’s history, Wrangler’s history
They became part of an independent Kontoor Brands following its separation from VF Corporation in 2019. Today, their work with Tappr adds accessible product information to that long-standing relationship between brand, garment and wearer. Kontoor’s announcement
Product passports built into the way collections reach the market.
Delivering passports across two brands means bringing product data, labels and publishing together.
Kontoor already had established systems and production partners. Tappr worked within that environment to connect the information behind the collections to a digital passport accessible from the garment.
The programme covers Lee and Wrangler’s full European collections, giving product transparency a consistent place in the journey from production to customer.
Delivered together with Charming Trims.
Charming Trims supplies the trims and labels for Kontoor’s garments. Tappr provides the digital passport technology and supporting data workflows.
Together, the partners incorporate the passport’s QR code into the existing labelling process. A customer can scan the garment and open the corresponding product information.
The records behind each style, season by season.
The QR code carried into the existing trim workflow.
The passport a customer opens from the garment.
That coordination connects the physical label to the information behind it, making the passport part of the collection’s production workflow.
AGEC compliance, collection after collection.
Tappr supports Kontoor’s AGEC programme by bringing product information together, checking it against configured requirements and making it accessible through Digital Product Passports.
The team can follow compliance status across collections and identify information that needs attention. This gives Kontoor a consistent process to work with as new seasons enter the programme.
The partnership combines broad collection coverage with ongoing attention to the quality of the information being published.
Extending the work to environmental scoring.
Alongside the passport programme, Tappr is helping Kontoor calculate environmental scores using Ecobalyse.
Ecobalyse is the French public tool for calculating the environmental cost of clothing from product and life-cycle information. It considers factors such as materials, garment weight and manufacturing stages. Official Ecobalyse documentation
This extends the collaboration into another practical use of product data: helping the team calculate and understand the environmental impact associated with its garments.
A partnership that grows with the programme.
Since the collaboration began in 2024, the work has continued across successive collections and expanded into environmental scoring support.
For Kontoor, that means having a partner involved as the programme develops, helping the team address challenges and keep the work moving.
